Rachel Roy, she of multiple clothing lines and famous friends, has designed a burlap tote for Unicef, the proceeds of which go to the ten millions children affected by the recent Pakistan floods.

Each tote costs $20, and all of it goes to Unicef (so no hefty charity administration costs here!). A cool part of the design: the back is signed by Roy’s famous friends like Oprah, Michael Kors, Andre Leon Tally, DVF and more!

We’re back! After a long weekend full of tryptophan (which scientifically prevents you from blogging), we’ve decided that the best segue from family togetherness is S&M-light  accessories. Gabriella Marina Gonzalez‘s S/S 2011 collection–creatively titled The Cyclops Apprentice–consists of shoes, body jewelry, waist packs and masks that evoke a modern warrior feel that hearkens back to another, darker, era.

One of our favorite sites, The Vitrine, carries rope jewelry by Tanya Aguiniga, a designer inspired by the colors of Tijuana’s fruit and candy vendors (the colors of the fruit and candy, not of the vendors) and the clean lines of Southern California freeways.

Made of cotton rope dip dyed in green and styled in Turk’s head knot, the bracelets adds a gypset vibe to an outfit, and the unexpected use of rope as material for jewelry has us already planning on adding these bracelets to vacay outfits. Rope on!
