According to Women’s Wear Daily, Tom Ford has decided to finally design womenswear (that looks like “women swear,” tee hee)! My question is: what took him so long to decide this? The fabulousness of Tom Ford needs to be extended to the rest of the population, thank you! He left Gucci in 2004 (leaving me in tears, but also leaving me with a bag from his last Gucci collection, which is now a collector’s item!), started his own line of menswear (now men are swearing–I’ll stop now), eyewear, and fragrance (just say no to his White Patchouli, though. No offence, Tom!). Tom just needs 50 million bucks and 18 months to get it all together.  The sleek sexiness he brought to Gucci and YSL will be well worth the wait.

Meet Tavi, the cutest fashion blogger EVER. We recently discovered this fellow fashion blogger while perusing the millions of fashion blogs out there and thought we had stumbled upon Cute Overload by mistake. This one, however, is written by an adorable, precocious 13-year-old Brit named Tavi. Tavi is sweet, smart and has an aptitude for fashion well beyond her tender years. Not only does she write about fashion, she displays her own creative outfits on her blog Style Rookie. Dare we say that Tavi, with her glasses and short frame is a better blogger than we are??? Or, is this a hoax? Is she really the cute awkward teeny, tiny, accidental genius or is she taking us all for a ride? Whatever the case, we’re falling for her schtick big time. I dare you not to “awwww” at photo two.

To go off topic, one of us moved in with the other, so we have TWO bloggers under one Williamsburg roof and we still can’t get our shit together?? Dammit, the neighbors are baking French bread right after we swore off carbs!  (If we didn’t know any better we’d say Top Chef auditions are going on in 2F! What, you mean to tell me you’re in love, have an adorable King Charles Cavalier puppy AND spend your Sunday evenings making fresh baguettes for the week? Really?) OK, we digress. We’ll stop drinking the Hatorade ’cause we’re full (plus, we’ve exceeded our calorie limit for the day- that fake “hot” –more like lukewarm—yoga class didn’t help, and by the way f@%k the persons who stole BOTH of our umbrellas from the Crunch gym lobby during torrential downpours).

Ok, we just needed to get that off our chests. Back to Tavi, the adorable little biscuit that she is, who lifted our spirits more than anyone else today. Thanks, Tavi.

While Richie Rich’s shows are some of the most amazing around, its not the clothes that garner the attention. His “collections” look like a first year FIT student’s lame attempt, but his showmanship exceeds all other designers. I tend to shy away from anything that makes my size nine feet bigger than they are OR away from anything that my ultra-politically correct friend calls “dykey”, since I like to think I’m a delicate, feminine flower. Right. Well, even this trend convinced me to deflower, haha. When worn with the right silhouette (think sleek pants, slouchy top or streamlined wool blazer or jacket) motorcycle boots can look surprisingly fresh (note double entendre, hehe). I need to stop. Seriously.

These rock, not only because of the spiky heel, but because of the studded trim that wraps all the way around the shaft of the boot. All you need is a LBD and you’re good to go.

I really tried to give her a chance. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I thought, “Hey, she dresses well most of the time, maybe she’ll do OK as Emanuel Ungaro’s artistic advisor.” I was wrong.  Some of the dresses were just OK–I would probably wear 3-4 of the over forty outfits shown at Ungaro’s RWT Spring 2010 Collection. A couple of problems:

The over-use of the heart motif (hasn’t anyone heard of Moschino? They’re known for the cheesy use of hearts on anything from bathing suits to dresses to purses). Lilo pushes the envelope by introducing HEART-SHAPED PASTIES to be worn under blazers, you know, to dinner with your father or a business meeting with a client (to really SEAL the deal, haha, get it? SEAL? The pasties are sealed onto your boobs. OK–maybe it’s not that funny if I have to explain it).
