Today’s Want: Alloy’s Funnel-Neck Sweatshirt
2.23.10I’m admittedly ashamed while perusing the catalog of purveyor of all things teen and tween, Alloy, which is a combination of American Eagle and Charlotte Russe. Still, I come across the rare treasure that looks like it’s from an ultra-cool label like James Perse or LNA. Such is the case with this funnel-neck sweatshirt.
As long as I don’t look like I’m dressed to go to a Jonas Brothers concert, I’ll keep shopping Alloy’s meant-for-teens wares. As long as you wear them with a certain elan, no one will be the wiser!

Gangs Of New York Meets The Age Of Innocence At TIMO WEILAND
2.22.10One of the most refreshing collections at New York Fashion Week was that of Timo Weiland. The young design duo of Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein celebrate the modern dandy in their sophomore collection. Collegiate and British, textured fabrics married to luxurious, rich jewel colors, the collection bows to the past while looking towards the future. Bonus: NO fur, which was all over the runways this fashion week!
Check out some of the transporting looks for men and women!

More Images From New York Fashion Week
2.22.10Here are some more images from New York Fashion Week! (I know it was last week and that London Fashion Week is under way, but better late than never.)
I will also be posting some more on shows from NYFW as well as LFW. Toodles! -
WANT: Rogues Gallery “F@%k Yeah” Silver Chain Necklace
2.22.10For those of you with a salty sailor’s tongue, here’s the perfect way to express your feelings without saying a word. Rogues Gallery, the cool-as-hell manly man’s shop of wares based in Maine that sells ephemera, plaid and vintage clothing and accessories for lovers of the New England seascape sells “deadweights” (i.e. oxided, handcrafted jewelry).
My absolute favorite, the “F*%k Yeah” chain is, of course, sold out. But check out their other offerings here.

And The Award For The Most Creative NYFW Presentation Goes To…Rachel Antonoff
2.18.10I was intrigued when I saw the invite to Rachel Antonoff ‘s Autumn/Winter 2010 presentation.
A presentation staged as a murder mystery at the eerie Lafayette House? Beautiful ’40s-inspired feminine separates and dresses? Yes, please! Follow the photos for a tour of the presentation and take a look at the wonderfully sweet clothes that transport you to another era (without having to drop LSD).
Elements: lace, chiffon, pleats, satin, oxfords, pin curls, girlishness

QVC Party To Celebrate New Lines From Rachel Zoe and Isaac Mizrahi
2.16.10QVC threw a “Shop the Runway” event this past weekend during NYC’s Fashion Week in Bryant Park to celebrate the debut of Rachel Zoe’s eponymous line and Isaac Mizrahi’s ISAACMIZRAHILIVE! line. Shoppers could avoid the frustration of having to wait two seasons to buy what they see on the runway by new items straight from the tents!
Notable attendees: Rachel Zoe, Isaac Mizrahi, Busy Phillips from Cougar Town (who was wearing the cape below in black) and Kelly Rutherford from Gossip Girl.
Here are two of the most popular looks:
Check out QVC’s Shop the Runway with more designer looks straight off the runway (no waiting)!

DESIGNER WATCH: Magalis Garcia’s Sweet Glamour
2.14.10Designer Magalis Garcia‘s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection caught my eye this week. Amidst all the craziness, where parties, celebrities and all the hoopla surrounding fashion take up much of the attention, Garcia’s clothes garnered the attention, and rightfully so. With solid, careful details such as neck brooches, feather trim and voluminous waves of fabric, her dresses and suits are romantic without being too precious, and 40s-inspired with a modern twist.
Here are some of our favorite looks.
Wool magenta dress with feather brooch
Midnight blue lace evening gown
Grey wool dress with detail
Sculpted grey one shoulder cocktail dress
Blue tweed peplum jacket and skirt with ivory belt
Navy blue stretch satin one shoulder cocktail dress

VIDEO: Keith Lissner Fall/Winter Presentation–Hey, It’s A Dinner Party!
2.12.10Sometimes, these runway shows and presentations all start to look the same. Not so at Keith Lissner. I got there, and there was an elaborate table set up with champagne (yes!) fruit (fake
) and all sorts of decadent decoration. Anywhoo, I almost seated myself before I realized that it was the backdrop for the models. Specializing in “demi-couture designer eveningwear” (yeah, I’ve never heard that term, either), Lissner’s designs were flashy, shiny and appropriate for Russian nouveau riche.
