3.14.10Anthropologie, purveyor of all things floral, frilly and feminine, does not disappoint when it comes to underpinnings. Their lingerie sets are perfect for spending all day in bed on a cold Sunday–practicing your French, kissing your lover or simply reading the New York Times.

Spring Is In The Air (And On Your Feet)
3.14.10Spring is almost here! I may be “rushing the season” which Glamour.com defines as:
RUSHING THE SEASON: v./phrase, pron. ruhsh-ing the see-zhun: The act of wearing weather-inappropriate clothing or accessories out of sheer excitement, impatience, and anticipation of the impending weather-appropriate season.
…but who cares!
When people say that love is in the air and speak of “Spring Love,” I do believe they’re referring not to the Stevie B. song of the same title, but to the following items for Spring 2010.

File These Nails at Gareth Pugh Under WTF
3.6.10Yeah, I know that high fashion is artistic and what not, but some shit is just ugly and freaky. Gareth Pugh, the critics’ darling who brings performance art to the runway also brings mostly unwearable clothing. Why not just show your designs in a gallery or museum and call it a day? His Fall 2010 collection accessorized some of them models’ nails with chain mail. Yes, chain mail. Not cute. Just because something is new and innovative doesn’t mean that it’s aesthetically pleasing, and last time I checked, women like to look attractive.

“Discount” Shopping Sites Not Always Such A Deal
3.4.10I used to think that Zappos was a deal, if not a good deal, than at least the free shipping was some sort of a salve. But, to find out the same model of Nine West shoe is $107.96 down from $119.95 on Zappos.com, while the same exact shoe is $89 on Ninewest.com at REGULAR PRICE made me say WTF? That’s so not cool, Zappos!

Design Makes Me Horny: Eclectic Corner
3.3.10Check out this amazing photo of just a corner of a room, but a corner filled with quiet eclectic style–from the oversized ornate mirror to the crow hanging. Even the dust on the dresser seems deliberate.

Obsession With All Things Gold- Foley + Corinna Wrapped Chain Leather Crossbody Bag
3.2.10My obsession with gold lately has extended itself to bags. No longer satisfied with carrying the occasional gold clutch, I’m now in love with a bag I can tolerate seeing daily–Foley + Corinna’s leather and gold mesh (!) crossbody bag. Combine gold mesh (where have you been all my life, by the way?) and sleek glazed leather with a chain/leather strap and call me yours.

Rodarte At Target Marked 75% Off In Non-NYC Locations
2.26.10The frenzy that comes upon the masses in NYC when a designer collaboration like Rodarte debuts at Target doesn’t affect the rest of the country. Indeed, even across the Hudson River in a land called “New Jersey” the natives remain unaffected. Rodarte has been marked down to SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT OFF. I’m hoping the same thing will happen to Jean Paul Gaultier when his collection comes out March 7th!

London Fashion Week–Continued!
2.25.10The last couple of days at London Fashion Week were full of beauty and lust (for the clothes, of course). Check out behind-the scenes video here and here from our friends over at Grazia Daily!
1. Antonio Berardi showed a collection that ranged from wearable (Mad Men-inspired knee-length silhouettes with modern asymmetrical touches) to the mostly unwearable but still beautiful (sheer tops and dresses).
2. Fall florals in slightly lighter autumnal tones of rust and grey-blue ruled the Erdem runway, along with textured lace, tiered ruffles and prints of leaves and bird.
Roksanda Illincic shows a collection with pieces that were borne a marriage of the 40s and 70s, replete with fluid lines, drapey blouses and longer skirts and dresses.
Peter Pilotti’s design duo shows infinitely wearable and modern suits and separates with leather and tweed paneling, in addition to digitally-created subtle print jersey dresses.
Jonathan Saunders sent sporty modernity down the runway in incarnations of shiny paneling, fabric fringe and over-sized raincoats atop longer skirts (some with paper bag waistbands) and dresses.
Christopher Bailey’s mastery for Burberry Prorsum was live-streamed online AND available for pre-order instantaneously on the Burberry web site. No wonder–the coats and jackets were at the same time current and classic. If you missed the show, you can catch it again here.

Strong Lines And Fluid Fabric At Jen Kao/New York Fashion Week
2.23.10For some reason, an esteemed blog such as Fashion Makes Me Horny didn’t get invited to all of the shows at New York Fashion Week last week. Why? Aren’t we along the same lines as Vogue, Elle and W? Anyway, lucky for us, we were able to sneak in with one of our photog friends at Jen Kao’s show at Milk Studios.
FMMH: I think I’m on the list. [I wasn't.]
Heartless fashion PR girl: Sorry, I don’t see your name. Who are you with?
FMMH: Fashion Makes Me Horny
Heartless fashion PR girl: Who?
Photog friend: She’s with me. Here are my credentials.
Heartless PR girl: Oh, OK, here’s your press pass.
So, thanks to Chervine, we were able to sneak into Jen Kao’s show and slip into the second row! Yay! Check out the amazing shots of clothes imbued with sexiness, precision and fluidity.
