Lilly Allen Gets a New Gig
8.4.09

What are your thoughts on Uncle Karl’s newest muse? The likeliest choice? No. We have to admit we are kinda digging this ad campaign, albeit airbrushed to high heaven. We’ll play along for now, Karl, and pretend we forgot about this.

Nordstrom Rack Coming to Union Square!
8.4.09
Goodbye Virgin, Hello Nordstrom Rack!
The rumors are true, Nordstrom Rack will be taking over the space formerly known as the Virgin Megastore. We predict this will not fair well for discount neighbor Filene’s basement, as the selection at Nordstrom Rack is far superior. Apparently “The Rack” will be making discount duds available to us by this spring. I’m pumped!

The One-Dress was designed by over 1000 women from across the world via social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and ASmallWorld. Mal Sirrah Creative Director, Malcolm Harris curated the project over eighteen months by interacting with women and asking them about their dreams and lifestyles in relation to a dress. Besides the obvious fabulosity of this chameleon of a dress, you can feel good about this purchase because a portion of proceeds go to benefit Womankind Worldwide and KIVA.ORG. The dress is $300 from one-dress.com.

Fun (and Cheap) Summer Items from Reliable Faves!
8.1.09Summer time calls for finding items that won’t stick to you and won’t empty your wallet. Always on the hunt for summa-time fabulosity, I found some items that will will def. make their way to my closet.
Remember the days of lower the better? I (ashamedly) admit I owned the four-inch rise Frankie B. jeans that were all the rage a few years ago. It just somehow feels wrong to have to get regular brazilian waxes because your jeans are low. Anyway, I’ve switched over to high-waisted items like this fab skirt from BCBG:

$41.40 down from $138
These linen shorts from Only Hearts are slashed on Shopbop.com:

$23.40 down from $78!
French Connection is known for their frilly, feminine wares such as this ruffled dress in their 70% off sale section:

$59.95 down from $178
Since I’ll always be a Southern California girl, tube tops will always have a place in my heart. I’ll probably still be wearing them in the retirement home. Try this relaxed incarnation from Free People:

$19.95 down from $38!

In Case the Recession Didn’t Affect You: Hermes Bluetooth
7.29.09
Prices have not yet been released for this designer technology, but if prices for their non-tech accessories are any indication ($375 for a silk scarf!) this will cost a pretty penny. Apparently it automatically charges when you lie it on the circular base in the first image. In my opinion bluetooths (blueteeth?) are gaudy, and GQ agrees with me. This is disappointing, Hermes, very disappointing…. -
Cue the Clowns: Forever 21′s New Twist Collection
7.28.09
Those mini tophats are popping up everywhere!! Even Forever 21′s new line features some in the lookbook. I’m unclear about whether or not they will be selling them, or if they were just for the shoot. (It’s funny I feel the need the clarify that, as if you all are trying to figure out where the hell you can get a mini tophat from! haha) Anyway, take a look see at the lookbook and share your thoughts.
