Just perusing one of my fav sites 80spurple.com and stumbled upon a few items I wanted to share with you. First up the flouncy  Aryn K dress on top which is only $78! The Charlotte Ronson booties below are $176 but well worth it. I die for anything suede.

My amazing blog partner hit up TWO major sample sales today: Intermix and Barney’s. While Barney’s didn’t retain any of its first day shitshow qualities, it still disappointed with no scores in site (mind you, they add more merch. near the end of the sale, so no need to stand in line).

Intermix decided to blow minds with NINETEEN DOLLAR LEATHER PANTS AND NINETEEN DOLLAR BOOTS AND SHOES! Did I mention that they were NINETEEN dollars? My blog partner graced me with two pairs of leather pants–one from Golde and one from Elizabeth and James, the Olsen twins line. (Because I need TWO pair of leather pants for work. ) And, oh yeah, $300 Michael Kors knee-high leather wedge boots. Wow. We don’t have photos of the leather pants but we sure do have photos of happy, happy shoes!

You may think I’m insane for suggesting suede gloves for the summer, but trust me, these are SOOOOO badass that’s you’ll be jumping on the “gloves in the summertime” trend faster than Rachel Zoe can run to the bathroom to purge the five leaves of lettuce she had for lunch (butter lettuce IS higher in calories, you know). First thing–these are made by the legendary Azzedine Alaia–meaning they’re really an investment (better than the Vegas condo you bought in 2004 for 300K, expected to flip in a year for 500K, except now it’s worth 210K, but I digress). Second–you can buy them in pounds sterling or in euros–so you feel chic just buying them (until you figure out you don’t know the exchange rate and find out you paid $500). Find them on the Eurochic web site (discovered by my ever-vigilant blog partner) called Matches.

Imagine wearing these with a cute strapless floral dress to give it a rock ‘n roll edge or a grey jersey shift  to add an interesting dimension to its minimalism. OR, for the daring ones out there, just wear them with a black bra and panty set from Agent Provocateur for your significant (label-appreciating) other.

Just discovered this site today and went through it to pick out the creme de la creme for you. In all honestly a great majority of the clothes on the site seem like they would look cheap in person, but the accessories rock! Stay away form the no name shoes (esp. if you are a NYer). On Wednesday, August 26th, I plan on being a bit under the weather and not being able to make it to work, or perhaps I will have a doctor’s appointment scheduled from 1-6pm (a really thorough appointment). One of the biggest trends for fall is the feminine oxford, like this one from Steve Madden. It’s not on sale (still cheap), but we love how the name of it has TWO xxs! Super cute!

A word of caution, though. If you have anything larger than a 7.5 foot, an oxford will make your feet look like surfboards (not a good look).

For late nights, try these Calvin Klein stacked heels. When the weather gets colder, you can wear them with tights OR you can still wear them to work with trousers and still look profesh:

Goodbye Virgin, Hello Nordstrom Rack!

The rumors are true, Nordstrom Rack will be taking over the space formerly known as the Virgin Megastore. We predict this will not fair well for discount neighbor Filene’s basement, as the selection at Nordstrom Rack is far superior. Apparently “The Rack” will be making discount duds available to us by this spring. I’m pumped!

These are by Brazilian designer Melissa. Purple, architectural, rubber flats appeal to me for some strange reason? I have seen these shoes everywhere, are they actually  comfortable? It doesn’t seem like they would conform to the shape of your foot very well. To read about the designer check this out.

One of our friends has these in black and they are freakin’ awesome. Super soft leather and extremely comfortable. (Even by NYC standards!) Anyhoo, they are on sale on the site, so don’t say I never did anything for you.

Sometimes even I suffer from a bit of shoppers remorse, so I bought these yesterday at Urban Outfitters for $35 and I’m questioning their appeal. They were originally $98, but yesterday all UO sale items were an extra 50% off, which rocked. Get ye down to Urban today and check it out. The good news is most hipsters are at the pool party in Williamsburg right now, so you should have the sale section mostly to yourself.
