I’m not sure how I feel about these. Of course, I love the innovative design combined with whimsy and the characteristic Christian Louboutin sexiness, HOWEVER, I don’t want to wear shoes that make it seem like my, ehem, wide 9.5 feet (and cankles!) are being measured! What woman wants any sort of measuring tape on her person?

The Spring/Summer 2011 Louboutin lookbook by Khuong Nguyen shows the shoes, not on feet, but strapped to rockets, carried by umbrellas and pulled by balloon animals. It has a Murakami/Alice in Wonderland feel – literally and figuratively putting Christian Louboutins in another dimension. Somehow, our Jeffrey Campbells don’t seem as exciting. Hmmm.

The mind reels and the pocketbook shudders. Who would wear something so utterly tacky, even ironically? Christian Louboutin should stick to making shoes like the Maralena, recently voted the world’s sexiest shoe. As for the Louis, let’s just call this the world’s most Kanye West shoe.
