The Nars Holiday 2010 Collection is now out and features some amazing colors, including the Bad Influence nail polish (a smoky taupe) and the Bougainville lip gloss (deep pomegranate).

We met François Nars once, at a launch party for his 15 x 15 book, which features such luminaries as his muse, Daphne Guinnes, Marc Jacobs, Naomi Campbell and more–all dolled up and photographed by Nars himself. Nars Makeup is more than just makeup–it evokes history, romance and recalls great art.

OKINAWA
One of Japan’s most southern clusters of islands characterized by over
150 islands. The area boasts pleasant weather and good fortune. The first
eyeshadow trio for the brand is a striking triad of silver, deep cobalt blue and
black onyx. Like its namesake area, the three hues are exotic on their own or
work together in perfect harmony to create an essence of drama worked on lid,
crease, and brow bone.

MÉLUSINE
In folklore tales, a melusine was described as a feminine, free spirited woman.
Similarly, this duo eyeshadow is an ultra-modern union of two colors working in
harmony. Sweep the bright deep purple across the lid and highlight under brow
with the pale silver lilac.

ÉTRUSQUE
One of the richest western European cultures, the Etrusci people (of present
day Tuscany) shared their wealth: the Latin alphabet, unique artwork, and an
adoration of women. The antique gold hue is reminiscent of cast bronze art
for which the Etruscans were known. Applied wet or dry, this shadow virtually
washes the lid with glorious light.

SEX APPEAL
