We reported on the Gucci iPad case when it came out, noting that for the price ($230), it was a relative steal and could double as an envelope clutch. Gawker reports that couture houses are jumping on the iPad case bandwagon, with Chanel’s being the priciest at $1,555.

We don’t know why, but almost anything that Chanel puts out make us weak in the knees, including this iPad case. Never mind that the iPad is a third of the cost of its case, but how’s that different from carrying a designer bag whose contents are not worth much? (Maybe we should take this line of logic to therapy or a money management counselor.)

Some might see a Chanel iPad case as an ostentatious extravagance–we just see it as another form of quilted Chanel genius.

We ADORE this simple and striking copper armour bracelet from MTWTFSS Weekday. Too bad for us–unless you’re in Scandinavia (or “Scandi” as one of our cute Swedish friends calls it)–you can’t get this, or any of their other fab wares, since they only sell in-store.

. . . And Pink Floyd and AC/DC tees. We thought we’d crop out the bras in the back, but we left them there for your enjoyment!

Who knew? We went to pick up some body wash and unwaxed floss and happened upon these cool burnout sleep tees. With a loose fit and casual v-neck, these “vintage” tees were a steal at only $9. Of course, visions of child labor dance in our heads every time we even contemplate buying something at Walmart (especially since it’s Labor Day today).

At any rate (and with the disclaimer that we DO NOT support child labor) $9 seems like a helluva deal compared to some over-priced fake vintage rock tees we’ve seen elsewhere.

And if a tee shirt isn’t enough, you can snag the matching cropped sweats. (You have to admit, they ARE cute for working out.)

When we attended the finale of Bravo’s The Fashion Show (remember that show? A poor man’s Project Runway) last June, we ran into Glenda Bailey, editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, and asked her if there was any designer she’d love to see come out with a diffusion line. She was dying for Alber Elbaz to create a Lanvin one, but didn’t think it was possible:

“Obviously, there’s one I want but it will never happen is Alber Elbaz from Lanvin because he always says that he thinks that diffusion lines are a bit like being Cinderella. And he feels like on the main line the sisters get to go to the ball and so he’s always said that he will never do that.”

Happily, Elbaz changed his mind  and decided that this Cinderella line would be going to the H&M ball after all by stating that this will be “H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”

Tomatoe, tomato, this is a change of heart that has the fashion masses cheering.

The line will be revealed November 2nd and will be in stores November 20th.

I’m a sucker for school supplies and office supplies. I’ve been known to spend hours in the markers section at Staples alone, smelling markers and testing the fine points. So when I found out that one of my favorite designers started designing school supplies, it was truly cataclysmic!
