Accessories on the Fringe
4.17.10Fringe isn’t generally something I like a whole lot of. I feel like too much (i.e. on the back of a suede jacket in a V-formation or down the sides of jeans) makes you look like you belong on the back of a Hell’s Angel’s motorcycle or that you dropped a whole lot of peyote.
A little fringe, on the other hand, can look fresh and update an otherwise boring outfit. Let’s see, shall we?
I ADORE this Jimmy Choo Tita Fringe Clutch! The snake-embossed leather with suede woven detail on the bottom corner makes it surprisingly modern.
To fringe your feet, check out DV Dolce Vita’s Aventura sandal. The braided strap and stud detail will have you saying “Yee haw!”
To dress up a plain tank top dress, try adding this black fringe necklace by CCC. You may not be riding a horse, but country chic is now city necessary!

Make It Sexy This Earth Day with Prince Peter’s “Heal The World” Tee
4.15.10I don’t know about you, but I have this need to show off my entire side body (as we call it in yoga) every Earth Day–which is April 22nd for you non-recyclers. Call me crazy, call me slutty–I call it being ecologically aware, since I’m not wasting excess fabric that could be used elsewhere (in Africa, for example).
DJ Prince Peter collaborated with famous rock photographer Mick Rock (get it, hehe) to create a line of rockstar glam wear that the likes of Rihanna have been spotted wearing. Check out the “Heal The World” tee which features oversized arm holes and cool, political, positive sayings.
If it’s good enough for RiRi, it’s good enough for you.

Hudson’s 1K Jeans! Really?!
4.14.10Just when I thought we were cured of our addiction to overpriced premium denim that cost upwards of $150, Hudson Jeans says “screw the economy” and debuts the Resurrection line. Price point? $995.
Hudson’s latest collection is called Resurrection for its repurposed fabrics pieced together into one-of-a-kind styles that you probably can make in your crafts class at Michaels. One-of-a-kind does NOT mean bespoke, however, so if regular Hudsons don’t fit you well, these aren’t likely to fit well, either, no matter how high the price tag. I don’t know about you, but embellishments like sideways pockets and zipper detailing do not a thousand dollar jean make.
My thoughts? My plain old Hudsons fit fabulously and cost less than a car payment, so there.

Jungle Fever: Go Wild With Tribal Prints!
4.4.10Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of anything tribal or Aztec (especially after that Mel Gibson movie, Apocalypto) or even Southwest (is New Mexico still a state, BTW?). Anyway, tribal and ikat prints are making their way onto dresses, shoes and even bags this season. I’m not 100% convinced just yet, but after some meditating with my animal spirit and channelling my inner Native American, I might be ready for this trend!
