QVC Party To Celebrate New Lines From Rachel Zoe and Isaac Mizrahi
2.16.10QVC threw a “Shop the Runway” event this past weekend during NYC’s Fashion Week in Bryant Park to celebrate the debut of Rachel Zoe’s eponymous line and Isaac Mizrahi’s ISAACMIZRAHILIVE! line. Shoppers could avoid the frustration of having to wait two seasons to buy what they see on the runway by new items straight from the tents!
Notable attendees: Rachel Zoe, Isaac Mizrahi, Busy Phillips from Cougar Town (who was wearing the cape below in black) and Kelly Rutherford from Gossip Girl.
Here are two of the most popular looks:
Check out QVC’s Shop the Runway with more designer looks straight off the runway (no waiting)!

DESIGNER WATCH: Magalis Garcia’s Sweet Glamour
2.14.10Designer Magalis Garcia‘s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection caught my eye this week. Amidst all the craziness, where parties, celebrities and all the hoopla surrounding fashion take up much of the attention, Garcia’s clothes garnered the attention, and rightfully so. With solid, careful details such as neck brooches, feather trim and voluminous waves of fabric, her dresses and suits are romantic without being too precious, and 40s-inspired with a modern twist.
Here are some of our favorite looks.
Wool magenta dress with feather brooch
Midnight blue lace evening gown
Grey wool dress with detail
Sculpted grey one shoulder cocktail dress
Blue tweed peplum jacket and skirt with ivory belt
Navy blue stretch satin one shoulder cocktail dress

VIDEO: Keith Lissner Fall/Winter Presentation–Hey, It’s A Dinner Party!
2.12.10Sometimes, these runway shows and presentations all start to look the same. Not so at Keith Lissner. I got there, and there was an elaborate table set up with champagne (yes!) fruit (fake
) and all sorts of decadent decoration. Anywhoo, I almost seated myself before I realized that it was the backdrop for the models. Specializing in “demi-couture designer eveningwear” (yeah, I’ve never heard that term, either), Lissner’s designs were flashy, shiny and appropriate for Russian nouveau riche. -
VIDEO:John Bartlett Fall/Winter Men’s and Women’s Collections
2.11.10I was lucky enough to attend the John Bartlett Fall/Winter 2010 runway presentation for both men and women. It was Bartlett’s first foray into womenswear, and I have to say, it was almost indiscernible from his menswear. Oh, well. I guess boys will be boys and girls will be boys, too.
Words to describe his show: country club chic, tweed, leather, lux, rich, warm, blazers.
Notable attendees included Alex McCord, Simon van Kempen, Barneys’ Julie Gilhart, Details’ Matt Marden, designer Marisol Deluna and Derek Warburton of Derek Loves Shopping.
I started to take photos, but they got fuzzy, so I came up with the genius idea of taking video! It’s kind of grainy and not so well-shot, but that’s due to the free champagne before the show. Oops. Enjoy anyway!

Shipley & Halmos Fall/Winter 2010 Collection- Chic, Clean and Classic
2.10.10Fall/Winter 2010 Collections are starting to roll in with the beginning of New York Fashion Week, which officially starts Thursday, February 11th, 2010. Some designers, though, make their own rules. Such is the case with Shipley & Halmos. Instead of having a traditional show or presentation, they decided to have a private press preview and serve Pabst Blue Ribbon, the finest of beers. Never mind all that. Their clothes rock! Minimalist, with a decidedly classic feel, their clothes feel timelessly chic and luxurious without pretense. One of our bloggers was lucky enough to talk to Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos for Dossier Journal, a fashion/lit/art/culture mag.
Check out some looks we can look forward to from their Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

Feeling Cheeky?
2.5.10Nona De Samim‘s lingerie has garnered quite the cult following, and no wonder–her naughty knickers that emphasize cleavage of another sort are surprising, cutting edge and incredibly sexy. Utilizing garters, open backs and peek-a-boo detailing, and inspired by 16th century France, Nona’s lingerie, according to her, is “more, a way of being.”
Imagine wearing these Sans Culottes to greet your lover as he comes in the door. . .
For (slightly) more coverage, these Avec Des Bas panties come with detachable custom stockings.
I have to say, I am ENAMORED with this line. It can be purchased online at glamorousamorous.com.

Say How You REALLY Feel: Stank Sentiments Valentine’s Day Cards
2.4.10Sick of Hallmark’s sappy, sweet Valentine’s Day crap? Want to express your real feelings? Face it, you’re horny and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time for “keepin’ it real” with L.A. based design firm Kuro‘s Stank Sentiments Valentine’s Day cards.
With phrases from our favorite hip hop artists like 2 Live Crew, Sir Mix-a-Lot and Lil Wayne (who’s supposed to start his prison sentence Feb. 9th–you can send him the “Lick Me Like a Lollipop” card in jail), these cards are sure to please your hip hop lover. My favorite? “Oh, Me So Horny. (Me Luv You Long Time).”
Check them out and buy them at Kuro’s Etsy shop for $5 each or a pack of six for $25 (for all your hoes).
Biggie would be proud.

Olsenboye For The Over 15 Set
2.3.10Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s line for JC Penney debuts today and you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything if you’re over 15. I tried, believe me. I really like their Elizabeth and James contemporary line, but sometimes a girl doesn’t feel like paying $400 for a blazer, you know?
Unfortunately, the quality and style is a far, far cry from Elizabeth and James. Here are a few spring picks I would buy if Forever 21 were to close down.
I would wear this twill bottom dress to brunch (but with big sunglasses to cover the hangover face puffiness).
This bow skirt is actually pretty cute. I would wear it out for drinks (but I would pair it with a color that didn’t make me look like I was invoking Ronald McDonald).
This boyfriend blazer has cute piping and a military style badge for all you fashion warriors. I would probably pair it with some rolled up boyfriend jeans instead of a cutesie skirt.
So, if you dare venture into the juniors section of JC Penney and are over 15, these are pretty much your only age-appropriate options.

Life Lessons Learned from Kell on Earth
2.2.10Lessons learned from Kelly Cutrone’s new reality show, Kell on Earth.
1. Fashion is, like, the most important job in the world, it’s like war, as evidenced by the peace on earth and goodwill towards (gay) men and (skinny) women when a fashion show goes off without a hitch.
2. Kelly Cutrone’s one tough bitch with a heart of gold (e.g. trying to play fair godmother to her assistant by trying to set him up with one of her clients’ in-house models).
3. There’s a lot of talk of the invites and seating arrangements, yet no one seems to know what’s going on. “That list” is equivalent in importance to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
4. If you’re in rows above three, you might as well go home and put your head in the oven, since you’re looked at as scum by rows one through three. (Kelly’s 7-year old daughter won’t even sit in the third row.)
5. You can get a pedicure while on a laptop without getting electrocuted.
6. Kelly’s never taken a brush to her hair or a lip gloss to her mouth.
7. The printing gods get a kick out of breaking down printers at the most critical moments–and hearing Kelly say “fuck” over and over.

Watch Marcy Marc’s Fall/Winter 2010 Fashion Show Live on February 15th
2.1.10You, too, can watch Marc Jacobs’ Fall/Winter 2010 fashion show without worrying about flying to NYC, bumping elbows with fasholes who steal your seat at the show, or dealing with Marc’s notorious inability to tell time–past shows have started late, early and seating snafus have left lots of celebs and notables out in the cold (literally).
It will stream live February 15th, 2010 at 8pm EST. If that still won’t do, you can enter to win two tickets to the show here and hope you’ll be seated next to Marc’s bff, Posh.
